Product guide
A sounder flasher is a fire alarm device that warns people with both sound and light. When the fire alarm panel raises an alarm, the sounder gives a loud siren, and the strobe gives a bright flashing light. The two signals together make sure people notice the alarm, even in noisy places or when someone has hearing difficulty. Sounder flashers are fixed on walls or ceilings in corridors, halls, workshops, offices and hotels. They connect to the sounder circuit of the fire alarm panel, and they normally run on a 24V DC supply. Many models offer several tones, so you can pick the one that suits your site, and some let you adjust the volume. A sounder flasher is often red, so it is easy to identify. Conventional and addressable versions exist, so check that the device matches your panel.
In a noisy workshop, or when someone has hearing loss, a siren alone may not be noticed. A strobe gives a clear visual signal. Placing sounders and strobes where they can be seen and heard in every area, including toilets and stairways, helps everyone to react in time.
