Product guide
A 4-zone conventional fire alarm panel is the control centre of a small or medium fire alarm system. It has four zone circuits, and each zone connects a group of detectors and manual call points. When a detector or call point triggers, the panel lights up the LED for that zone, sounds a buzzer and turns on the sirens, so staff know in which part of the building the fire started. The panel also watches for faults, such as a broken wire or a missing device, and it shows a fault light. It normally runs on mains power and has a built-in charger and battery backup so it keeps working during a power cut. The panel also provides outputs for sounders and strobes and, on many models, relays that connect to other systems. This panel is a good fit for shops, schools, clinics, small hotels, offices and apartment blocks, where it is enough to know the zone of the fire.
A zone is an area of the building that the panel monitors as a group. Use at least one zone per floor, and split large floors into more zones, so that staff can find the fire quickly. If you plan more than four zones, choose a panel with more zones, or an addressable panel that shows each device.
What does 4-zone mean?
The panel monitors four separate groups of detectors.
Does it show which detector triggered?
It shows the zone, not the single detector.
Does it work in a power cut?
Yes, on the standby batteries.
Can it connect to sounders?
Yes. It has sounder outputs.
Can I add more zones later?
Not on a fixed 4-zone panel. Choose a bigger panel if you plan to grow.
What detectors can I connect?
Conventional detectors, call points and sounders that match the panel.
