AFO Fireball 1.3kg – Automatic Fire Extinguisher Ball

The AFO Fireball is an automatic fire extinguisher in the shape of a ball. It holds about 1.3kg of ABC dry powder, which is mono ammonium phosphate based, in a ball with a diameter of about 147mm. When the ball touches flames, it bursts within about 3 to 10 seconds and spreads the powder over the fire. It also sounds a loud alarm of about 120dB, so people nearby know there is a fire. You can use it in two ways. You can place it on a bracket in a risky spot, where it works by itself even if nobody is there. Or you can throw or roll it into a fire. It needs no power, no gauge and no training, and sellers state that it needs no maintenance for about 5 years. It suits small enclosed spaces such as kitchens, electrical panels, store rooms, workshops and vehicles. It is a helpful extra, but it does not replace an approved portable extinguisher.

What a Fireball Can and Cannot Do

A fireball is a smart backup because it works when nobody is around, such as a small fire at night in a closed store room. It is made for small, enclosed spaces, and its coverage is limited. It does not replace a proper portable extinguisher, which you can control and use on a larger fire. Think of the fireball as an extra layer of protection, and keep an approved extinguisher nearby.

Installation and Usage Guide of AFO Fireball 1.3kg

• Mount it on a bracket in a high risk spot, as shown in the manual
• Keep it away from heat sources that could activate it by mistake
• Do not keep it in a place where it could fall and break
• In an emergency, throw or roll it into the fire from a safe distance
• After it activates, ventilate the room and call your local fire service if the fire continues
• Replace it after use or after its stated life
