Product guide
TeSys control relays are used inside control panels, not to switch motors. They take a small control signal and pass it on to several contacts. This lets one signal drive many circuits, for example in interlocks, sequencing and alarms. They are also used as a link between a PLC and higher voltage circuits. The CAD series gives a 5 contact relay, such as CAD32 with 3 normally open and 2 normally closed contacts, or CAD50 with 5 normally open contacts. The TeSys K series is more compact and includes CA2K, CA3K and CA4K models. Contacts are rated for 10A and 690V, which is enough for most control circuits. Coil voltages include AC and DC options, so you can match the relay to your control supply. Control relays are simple, reliable parts that keep a panel working correctly.
Q1: What is the difference between a relay and a contactor?
A relay switches control signals. A contactor switches power loads.
Q2: What does CAD32 mean?
A control relay with 3 normally open and 2 normally closed contacts.
Q3: How do I choose the coil?
Match the coil voltage to your control supply.
Q4: Can I replace the contacts?
CAD32 relays do not offer replacement contacts on the IEC style models. Replace the relay.
