Product guide
The Acti9 iC60N is a series of miniature circuit breakers from Schneider Electric. It protects cables and equipment from overload and short circuit. The series comes in 1 pole, 1 pole plus neutral, 2 pole, 3 pole and 4 pole versions, with current ratings up to 63A. You can pick curve B for general use, curve C for mixed loads, or curve D for loads with a high start current. The iC60N has a breaking capacity of 6kA under IEC 60898-1 and 10kA under IEC 60947-2, which suits most homes, shops and offices. Each breaker works as an isolator and shows the contact position. It is part of a full system, so you can add auxiliary contacts, shunt trips, padlocks and Vigi earth leakage blocks later.
Q1: What is the difference between 6kA and 10kA on the label?
6kA is the household rating (IEC 60898-1). 10kA is the industrial rating (IEC 60947-2). Both belong to the same breaker.
Q2: Which curve should I choose, B, C or D?
B suits lighting and sockets, C suits mixed loads and small motors, and D suits loads with a very high start current.
Q3: Can I add earth leakage protection to an iC60N?
Yes. Fit a Vigi iC60 block on the side of the breaker.
Q4: How is iC60N different from iC60H?
The iC60H has a higher breaking capacity. Choose it for boards with a high fault level.
