Product guide
Harmony emergency stop push buttons are made to stop a machine quickly when something goes wrong. They have a large red mushroom head, which is easy to hit with the palm in a hurry. When you press the head, it latches down and keeps the machine stopped. You then release it deliberately, so the machine cannot restart by accident. The range includes turn to release, push-pull and key release types. Turn to release is the most common choice. You can pick a plastic XB5 model or a metal XB4 model, and both fit a 22mm hole. The contacts are designed for direct opening action, which means the contacts open even if they have welded. Emergency stop buttons are normally paired with a yellow background label.
Q1: What does turn to release mean?
You turn the head to unlatch the button after pressing it.
Q2: Which contact should I use?
An NC contact in the safety circuit, so the circuit opens when the button is pressed.
Q3: What is the difference between turn to release and push-pull?
Turn to release unlatches by turning. Push-pull unlatches by pulling the head back out.
Q4: What is a key release version?
It needs a key to unlatch the button, so only authorized staff can restart the machine.
Q5: Can I use an emergency stop as a normal stop button?
No. It is for emergency use only.
Q6: What hole size does it need?
22mm.
