The Samyang AF 35mm F1.4 P FE is a full-frame autofocus prime lens designed specifically for Sony FE / E-mount mirrorless cameras. Part of Samyang's Prima Series, the lens combines a bright F1.4 aperture with a compact and lightweight design, making it suitable for photographers who want strong low-light performance without carrying a heavy lens.
Its versatile 35mm focal length provides a 63.4° field of view on full-frame cameras, making it useful for portraits, street photography, travel, everyday photography and environmental scenes. The lens weighs approximately 470g, making it one of the lighter full-frame 35mm F1.4 autofocus options for Sony E-mount cameras. Samyang designed the lens around three key ideas: Portability, Practicality and Convenience.
The standout feature of the AF 35mm F1.4 P FE is its F1.4 maximum aperture. The large aperture allows more light to reach the camera sensor, making the lens well suited to available-light and low-light photography. It can also provide a shallow depth of field for subject separation and background blur. The aperture range extends from F1.4 to F16.
The motor is designed to control the relatively large focusing lens groups quickly, quietly and accurately. This makes the lens suitable for both still photography and video applications. The lens supports fast and accurate autofocus tracking, making it useful for subjects such as people, street scenes and travel photography.
The lens can focus as close as 0.30m (0.98ft) and offers a 0.17x maximum magnification ratio. This allows photographers to move closer to subjects for detailed compositions while maintaining the characteristic 35mm perspective.
