Samyang AF 85mm F1.4 FE II Lens | Sony E-Mount

The Samyang AF 85mm F1.4 FE II is a fast portrait prime lens designed for Sony FE-mount mirrorless cameras. Combining an 85mm focal length with a bright F1.4 maximum aperture, the lens is designed to produce sharp subjects with a beautifully blurred background and smooth bokeh.

The optical design uses 11 elements in 8 groups, including four HR (High Refractive) elements and one ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) element. Samyang also uses its UMC coating to help maintain contrast and reduce flare and ghosting in challenging lighting conditions.

The second-generation design is more compact and lightweight, weighing 509g with a length of 99.5mm, making it a practical option for portrait photographers and Sony mirrorless users who also value portability.

F1.4 Large Aperture for Beautiful Portraits

The bright F1.4 aperture allows photographers to achieve a shallow depth of field, helping separate the subject from the background. This makes the lens particularly useful for portraits where smooth background blur and subject emphasis are important.

The nine-blade diaphragm contributes to soft, rounded bokeh when shooting at wider apertures

High-Resolution Optical Performance

The Samyang AF 85mm F1.4 FE II features an optical construction of 11 elements in 8 groups, including 4 HR and 1 ED elements. These special elements are designed to support high contrast, sharpness and controlled optical aberrations.

Samyang's UMC coating further helps maintain image quality in difficult lighting situations by reducing unwanted flare and ghosting

85mm Focal Length for Portrait Photography
