Product guide
The Samyang AF 135mm F1.8 FE brings a bright F1.8 aperture to a 135mm telephoto lens, a combination that gives extremely strong background blur and clear subject separation, especially useful for portraits shot from a distance. Thirteen glass elements in 11 groups, including an ultra-precision aspherical piece, two high refractive index elements and three extra-low dispersion pieces, work together to give sharp, high contrast results right into the corners of the frame. Despite its long reach, the lens focuses as close as 0.69 metres, giving a high maximum magnification of 0.243x, which is unusual for a telephoto lens of this length. A built-in Astro-Focus Mode with an LED index helps photographers lock onto infinity focus accurately at night, making this lens just as useful for shooting stars as it is for portraits. At 772g, it stays reasonably manageable for handheld use, and weather sealing throughout the barrel supports shooting in changing outdoor conditions.

One of the most useful features on this lens is its Astro-Focus Mode, paired with an LED index that helps confirm accurate infinity focus in the dark. Getting sharp focus on stars at night is normally tricky, since autofocus systems struggle in low light and manual focus rings can be hard to judge by eye. This built-in system takes much of the guesswork out of locking focus for night sky and star photography.
