The NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S covers the exact range most working photographers reach for at weddings, sports events and concerts, holding a constant f/2.8 aperture from 70mm all the way to 200mm. Its built-in Vibration Reduction gives a stabilisation effect equal to 5.5 stops, the strongest ever built into a NIKKOR lens, letting handheld shots stay sharp even at slower shutter speeds in dim venues. Twenty one elements across 18 groups, including six ED, one fluorite and one short wavelength refractive element, control colour fringing across the whole zoom range. A genuinely short 0.5 metre minimum focus distance at the wide end lets photographers get surprisingly close for a telephoto lens, useful for detail shots without swapping to a different lens.
