The Nikon Z9 sits at the very top of Nikon's camera line-up, built for photographers who shoot fast action for a living, such as sports, wildlife and news work. It uses a 45.7 megapixel stacked sensor that reads data so fast the camera does not need a mechanical shutter at all, which means no blackout in the viewfinder even while shooting a burst of photos. It can capture full resolution photos at 20 frames per second in RAW, and can go all the way up to 120 frames per second at a lower 11 megapixel size. On the video side, it records up to 8K resolution internally, without needing an external recorder. The body has a built-in vertical grip, so there is no need to buy a separate battery grip for portrait shooting, and it holds two CFexpress Type B memory cards for fast, reliable storage.
