Sigma 14mm F1.4 DG | Art Ultra-Wide Astrophotography Lens
This full-frame prime lens claims to be the worlds first 14mm lens with a max aperture of F1.4 designed for starscape and night sky photography. The 19 elements in 15 groups optical formula includes one SLD, three FLD and four aspherical elements with the largest at 79mm to counteract coma flare at the corners of the frame. A lens heater retainer wards off condensation during long outdoor exposures and a manual focus lock switch prevents accidental changes to a correctly set focus for star fields. Weighing in at 1170g, it feels like a serious and dedicated lens rather than a lightweight everyday optic.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Is this lens practical for everyday photography?
It can be used generally, but its size, weight and specialised astro features make it best suited to dedicated low light and landscape work rather than casual carry.
Q2: Does it accept front filters?
No, the front element uses a fixed petal-shaped hood, so filters must be used through the rear gel filter slot instead.
Q3: Does it include image stabilization?
No, it relies on in-body stabilization from the camera, since most current mirrorless bodies already include IBIS.
Q4. What’s the manual focus lock switch for?
The focus ring is physically locked in place once infinity focus is set, so it cannot be bumped during long night exposures.
