This full frame wide angle zoom spans from 14 to 24mm with a constant F2.8 maximum aperture to suit landscape, architecture and night sky photography. The optical construction employs 18 elements in 13 groups including one FLD, five SLD, and three aspherical elements to effectively reduce chromatic aberrations and coma flare. A twin stepping motor autofocus system enables fast, silent focusing for both stills and video. Super Multi-Layer and Nano Porous coatings are featured to control flare and ghosting in backlit conditions. The lens weighs 795g which makes it considerably lighter than the Sigma's previous DSLR-mount equivalent of the same focal range.
