• Aperture & Focal Range: Offers a bright f/2.8 aperture at the ultra-wide 17mm end, gradually shifting to f/4 at 35mm. This variable max aperture provides a low-light advantage over competing lenses like the Canon 17-40mm f/4. 

• Autofocus (OSD): Equipped with Tamron's Optimized Silent Drive (OSD)motor, providing fast and very quiet autofocus performance, suitable for both photography and video. 

• Optics: Features BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) coating to reduce ghosting and flares, plus LD (Low Dispersion) and GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) elements for great edge-to-edge sharpness.

• Canon Mount Compatibility: Fully compatible with Canon EF DSLRs and natively supported on Canon EOS R and RP series mirrorless cameras (via the EF-EOS R adapter). 

• Sony Compatibility: The G2 version (A041) does not have a Sony A-mount variant; however, Tamron previously produced a Model A012 in A-mount (which lacked VC).
