Solis 5kW Three Phase On-Grid Inverter (Wi-Fi-IP65)

The Solis 5kW on-grid inverter is the entry size in Solis’s three phase range, which means it suits homes, shops and small offices that have a three phase connection but a modest load. It is a grid-tied inverter, so it converts the DC power from your panels into AC and feeds your building and the grid, without any battery to buy or maintain. That keeps the upfront cost down and the system easy to understand. The unit comes with Wi-Fi monitoring, so you can check how much your system is producing from a phone instead of walking to the inverter. The 3P(3-20)K-4G series is listed with IP65 protection, which means it is dust tight and protected against water jets, so it can be mounted outdoors. It will not provide backup in a power cut, so it is best for sites where the main goal is a lower bill.

Is a Three Phase Inverter Necessary?

If your building has a three phase supply, a three phase inverter spreads its output evenly across all three phases, which keeps the system balanced and is often required by utilities for larger systems. If your building has only a single phase supply, you need a single phase inverter instead, so check your meter and distribution board first. A quick look at your electricity bill or meter usually tells you which one you have, and your installer can confirm it in minutes.
